Training Placements
Training designed for confidence and achievement
A genuine alternative to college-based learning
We are looking for hardworking, ambitious people who will make good use of the opportunities we offer. The training is based on British Horse Society qualifications, which are valued in all parts of the equestrian industry, but is much more wideranging.
All training is exchanged for work, with two training sessions per day worked. Students are taught in small groups, up to five people. Lessons follow a structured weekly programme but are relaxed and offer ample time for discussion and feedback.
Students progress at their own pace and are not put in for exams until we are satisfied that they're well above the required level. As a result, we have a pass rate of over 90% at all levels.
In addition, training includes:
- Dealing with a wide range of people in a business setting
- One to one tuition as needed
- Regular monitoring of achievement
- Continuous personal development system
- Contribution to some exam fees
- Opportunity to work as a paid instructor, after 18th birthday and BHS Stage 1
- Extra-curricular learning such as working horses from the ground, handling youngstock and backing and training
- Involvement in progressing the work of the school horses and ponies
The wide range of training means that our graduates are highly employable.
