CfH Courses
The following horse care courses have been devised by us in response to requests from clients. They cater for both beginners and experienced horse owners. All the courses under this heading include practical elements. They are run informally in small groups with opportunity for questions and discussion.
Essential Horse Care Level 1
A "hands on" six week course with an optional test at the end.

Also recommended for new horse owners hungry for more knowledge about health, horse behaviour, equipment, etc.
Essential Horse Care Level 2
A follow-up six week course and optional test for those who wish to deepen their knowledge and build up their practical experience.
A new course will start after the Level 1 has finished.
Essential Horse Care Level 3
There is now a third six-week course which is mainly practical and will bring those who attend up to the level of the BHS Stage 1 Horse Knowledge and Care exam.

A four week first aid course for horse owners.
The Theory Covers:
- Common Injuries, Ailments and Illnesses
- Emergencies
- Advice on when it is and isn't vital to call the vet
- Diet and Feedstuffs, Including feed-related health problems
- Complementary therapies for acute and chronic conditions
The Practical Part Includes:
- Taking Temperatures
- Stocking A First Aid Kit
- Tubbing and Poulticing
- Bandaging
- Restraint
